Established in 2016, the Texas ABSA Alumni Association was formed to bring together alumni and friends of the Asian Business Students Association (ABSA) at The University of Texas at Austin. Since 1987, ABSA has developed generations of UT students to be future leaders and provided a family for students within the University. The Alumni Association builds on the extensive history of ABSA by working to maintain the ABSA alumni network, encourage alumni involvement, bridge the gap between current students and alumni, and provide an avenue for alumni to “pay it forward” to fellow alumni, students and the UT Austin community.

The Alumni Association is a separate entity from the student organization though it works closely with student officers. The Alumni Association is run by alumni volunteers and relies on the personal and financial support of ABSA alumni for its success.

The Texas ABSA Alumni Association is a registered 501(c)3 charitable organization and non-profit corporation in the State of Texas.

The ABSA Alumni Association organizes and promotes events that provide an opportunity for alumni to network, build relationships and give back to the community.

Annual Alumni Weekend Tailgate

Hosted every fall during the UT football season, the Annual Alumni Weekend Football Tailgate brings together students and alumni in their support of the Texas Longhorns football team.

Happy Hours

Happy hours organized every few months in Austin, Houston, Dallas, San Francisco (to come) and New York City (to come) allow alumni to connect and also learn about the latest events and news from UT.

Alumni Connections

Alumni connection opportunities give students at UT Austin the opportunity to become familiar with the professional world through one-on-one interactions with alumni in various professional fields. Students interested in the program will be paired with alumni involved in their field of interest to learn more about future career paths.

Community Volunteering and Support

As a charitable organization, the Alumni Association also seeks to involve alumni in giving back to the University of Texas at Austin, our alma mater, and supporting public institutions of higher education in Texas.

Since the founding of the Asian Business Students Association at UT Austin in 1987, hundreds of members have graduated and become alumni of the organization. The Alumni Association works to build on the shared experiences of alumni during their time in ABSA and keep alumni connected through all phases of their lives.

Alumni Database

The Alumni Association works hard to maintain an accurate and up-to-date database of alumni. Members of the Alumni Association can access this database and keep connected with old friends and meet new ones.

Email Newsletter

The Alumni Association keeps all alumni abreast of the latest events and happenings with the Alumni Association and also with UT Austin.

The Texas ABSA Alumni Association is led by a Board of Directors who are all members of the Alumni Association. The Board of Directors are member volunteers passionate about the core mission of the Alumni Association. If you are interested in serving as a director, helping out, or have questions, please feel free to reach out to any of the directors or email us at
